Happy Record Store Day!

April 17th has turned into one of the best music days of the year thanks to it being officially dubbed Record Store Day last year.

Today is a celebration of independent labels, artists and of course your trendy local record stores that are more than likely showcasing local bands playing free shows and selling all of those deleted Smiths singles and original, not re-released - underlined - Frank Zappa albums that us music hedonists adore.

Here is a look at some delicious unreleased LPs that some of the best artists touring today have put together for the masses:

Beach House - Zebra 12" LP
The 1,500 copies include two new tracks and two alternate from their most recent album Teen Dream.

Ani DiFranco - Live at Bull Moose
This CD is being recorded live today at Record Store Day at Bull Moose in Maine.

Beastie Boys - White Label 12"
There isn't any information about this secret Beasties release.

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Eating Us
There are only a hundred or so copies of this extremely limited foil pressed double LP.

Built To Spill - Water Sleepers/Linus & Lucy (Live) 7"
There are 2,500 copies of this 7" single of new previously unreleased tracks.

Deerhoof - Apple O'
This incredible LP is being re-released on vinyl for today.

the Flaming Lips - Dark Side of the Moon
There are 5,000 copies of this cover of the Pink Floyd classic by the Lips, Stardeath and White Dwarfs.

Joy Division - Box Set
There are 820 copies of this four LP, 180 gram, box set.

the Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
3,000 copies available of three double gate fold, 10"s, with digital convenience card, released 3 days early for Record Store Day.

Pavement - Quarantine the Past: Best of Pavement
Pavement released this best of comp this year, but the track listing in this 1,000 copy issue was selected by winner of a Record Store Day contest.

Tom Waits - Mule Variations (11th Anniversary)
There are 3,000 copies of this 12" vinyl reissue, with exclusive Jim Jarmush photo of Waits.

the Velvet Underground - Live in 1969 Vol. 1 & 2
This is a vinyl reissue of the classic 1969 Velvets show.. and maybe by the time next year's Record Store Day rolls around we'll finally get another Reed/Cale reunion tour.
