Heeeellllooooo to the few and far between that visit greenT!

As you have clearly noticed.. there has been a serious lack of new content released on this blog as of late. The main reason being that I have taken on the role as Art Director for a local music magazine called Stylus Magazine!

Time has rearranged itself from greenTYPEWRITERS to Stylus.. but it is really more of a mending of content. Stylus brings many talented young writers/photographers/editors together to mull over local, national, and international music.. in print and virtual form. This benefits myself with access to local interests and international exposure to artists through fun things like interviews/reviews/shows/shindigs.

Sooooo while I don't know what will eventually become of greenTYPEWRITERS, as I am in the process of feeling out Stylus Magazine and stretching limbs to areas that are new and exciting, I suggest you come check out our humble magazine that is at a size that maintains freedom from traditional structures.. to a point. Our last issue includes interviews with Miracle Fortress and Colin Stetson.. while we just visited Winnipeg's Annual Folk Fest that held such big names as Omar Souleyman and Jeff Tweedy!

The beautiful Gorge festival has just announced their initial line-up:

The headliner's are an awful shame and there is a lot of re-used acts found on this line-up despite Flying Lotus, Guided By Voices, Archers of Loaf, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Beach House, Deerhunter, Yeasayer, and Death from Above '79.

A bunch of great and a bunch of blah.
Not much of an elaborate model for your 10 year anniversary, but a good basis that needs additional work.

UFO Sighting :: Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem

There has been an interesting "unidentified flying object" filmed from three different perspectives, which occurred a few nights ago on Temple Mount in Old Jerusalem.

The first and second perspectives are the most interesting and unproven pieces of footage that occurred at the Dome, while the third perspective has been concluded as thoroughly edited and entirely imitated (Source: John of UFOeyes.com). Contextualizing obvious speculation, these are fun bits of filming/editing/creation of pseudo-contact, or ball lightning, regardless of the third videos unauthenticities.

The historic location of Solomon’s Temple, the Last Supper, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus and today’s Dome of the Rock, Temple Mount is one of the most hotly contested religious sites in the world, subject to claims from both Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The rock over which the dome stands is the Foundation Stone described in Jewish tradition as the place from which the world was created, also regarded in Islamic faith as the step-off point for Muhammad’s ascent into heaven and remembered by Christians as the location of Jacob’s dream.

It should be mentioned that there is a phenomenon known as "ball lightning" which may account for the Dome of the Rock sightings: "As ball lightning has no established properties, it cannot be argued to be a probable match for any given report. It is fair to say that it's likely that one or more unknown phenomena exist that have triggered eyewitness accounts of hovering balls of light, but there's insufficient theory to support assigning these accounts a positive identification of ball lightning. Indeed, as ball lightning can only honestly be described as an unknown, it would be illogical to use it as an explanation for any report." (Source: Brian Dunning)
